A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified public practice Accountant to lead the Australian accounting functions. This fully remote role provides significant flexibility and autonomy in how you manage your client portfolio, with no business development or KPIs involved.

The Role
This role leads the accounting team in Australia in offering exceptional service to our wide range of clients.
- Building meaningful relationships with new and existing clients by understanding their issues and providing outstanding and consistent support and advice.
- Helping build the Australian team culture
- Reviewing financial statements, tax returns and other statutory lodgements of businesses (of all structures) and their associated individuals (no individual tax returns outside of individuals related to our business clients)
- Providing general accounting, taxation and business advice to small business clients, including structuring and tax minimisation
- Manage workflow of allocated clients and ensure turnaround time
- Managing the team and supporting the other departments within our company.
The ideal candidate:
- 5 years + experience in public practice is essential
- Good commercial acumen
- CA or CPA qualification is essential
- Current Tax Agent is essential
- Proficiency in Xero and Xero Practice Manager
- A progressive attitude and a strong desire to provide a high level of service to their clients
- Demonstrated the skills required to manage the end-to-end accounting process in a dynamic environment whilst coping with a variety of competing priorities
- Proven small business accounting experience
- Excellent confidence and communication skills - we talk to our clients daily via phone and video
