This highly regarded International studio, is currently seeking a Principal to join and help develop and grow their established Brisbane studio with new sectors and sectors in which they currently operate. Known for their high standing and capability within the industry, and with an enviable pipeline of work, Buchan take pride in achieving fantastic outcomes for their clients and the end users.    
 

The Opportunity 
As a Principal of the practice, you will assist in the long-term growth trajectory of the Brisbane studio. The opportunity exists to build your own team to this 40 year old Queensland studio, enjoy the opportunities of a global business, grow your client base with confidence and deliver award winning projects. You   will possess highly tuned business development experience with proven new and repeat client and stakeholder relationships.  You will have won large scale projects and delivered outstanding design excellence and profit on those projects.  Your role will include strategy, early feasibility and master plan work, through to overseeing project delivery incorporating client management and team leadership. The position requires exceptional client and leadership skills, and a strong connection to your specialist market. Candidates must be ambitious, driven to succeed and team oriented. The studio has capabilities across multiple sector types and you are able to pursue projects that you believe will add commercial and design value to the practice.

Skills and Experience to Thrive 

• A track record in winning and delivering large scale profitable projects 
• A Registered Architect in Australia
• Expert business development skills including client relationships, fee proposals and bid preparation, feasibility experience and presentation ability.
• A Minimum of 15 years’ plus experience in practice
• The ability to articulate complex design themes and the studio’s value add proposition to clients 
• Significant industry client connections in all or a mix of the Development, Commercial, Government and Planning space 
• Strong attention and focus to detail
• Mentoring, coaching and knowledge sharing skills, ability to deliver quality outcomes through others
• Strong, clear communicator with excellent social and emotional intelligence 
• Ongoing client relationship development and management skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and build relationships that thrive internally 
• Ideally a working knowledge/ understanding of Revit
