About the Opportunity
As our Principal Architect you will work collaboratively across the Planning Directorate, and act as a technical expert providing advice to Council and our stakeholders on highly complex development matters relating to architecture, urban design, and heritage. You will have the opportunity to provide education, advice, and mentoring around architecture and design.
In addition, you will:
- lead the assessment of development applications
- review of architectural plans including consultation with any Council appointed architectural and urban design review committees or panels
- support the development of team capability to drive a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused culture
- build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality services outcomes are achieved
We are seeking a design and architectural expert who has passion to make a positive impact for City of Moreton Bay. You will have ability to educate and advise both internally and externally to the business. You will have a degree in Architecture, Urban Design, or equivalent and a General Induction Licence (White Card).
You will have:
- substantial knowledge and experience in the delivery of architecture, urban design and heritage assessment services
- expert knowledge in the principles and practices relating to architecture, urban design and heritage
- high level knowledge of the State Planning Policy, the SEQ Regional Plan, the Planning Scheme, and the Adopted Infrastructure Charge Resolution
- excellent communication skills, high level influencing skills, and the ability to negotiate
