Our Opportunity
Work Location: Port Hedland. Fortescue’s Hedland Operations is located on the traditional lands of the traditional custodians in Hedland, the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 4D/3R - FIFO ex Perth
Reporting to the Senior Manager Business Planning & Decarb for the Northern Hub, this role will support operations in the identification, analysis and implementation of Business Improvement opportunities across the Hedland Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Improvement Project Management & Delivery
- Data Analytics & Root Cause Analysis
- Generation of Business Cases, Project Charters & Plans for Project & Solution Deployment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement to ensure a sound understanding of existing processes, end-user requirements and effective change management.
- Assist in the identification of opportunities to reduce expenditure, increase production, improve safety and culture
- Facilitate workshops to help ensure the consideration of differing opinions and options.
- Effectively present findings and updates to Management in a clear and concise manner
- Assist in the development Operational Business Plan & Improvement Project Pipeline
Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate education in a business or mining related discipline
- 5+ years of operational experience in a similar role within the Rail, Port or Engineering area.
- Six Sigma Qualification (Black/Green Belt) & or Lean Methodology Experience is preferential
- Experience working within both Operations and/or Maintenance
- Attention to detail and proficient problem solving abilities
- Strong communication / interpersonal / facilitation skills
- Ability to work cohesively with and influence others
