Principal Civil Designer

Randstad is proud to partner with a Queensland Government department who manages the transport systems and infrastructure across the state.
In the role of Principal Designer (Civil) you will operate in a team environment to deliver civil design components of transport infrastructure projects. You will also provide expert technical advice to Civil Designers, Civil Engineers and other stakeholders in alignment with industry and departmental standards and policies.
Duties:

• Develop transport infrastructure civil design models in the strategic planning, concept and development phases of projects.
• Ensure planning and design principles are implemented in accordance with the relevant policies, standards, guidelines and legislation, and that quality management procedures are adhered to.
• Peer review civil designs for transport infrastructure projects.
• Provide expert support and advice, including problem resolution, to various stakeholders on the planning and design process for successful completion of transport infrastructure projects.
• Provide input to determine the resourcing, engineering requirements, critical components and systems involved in supporting project management and delivery of planning and design component projects.
• Apply innovative methodologies to planning and design for transport infrastructure projects and their relevant phases of corridor planning, program development, program delivery, and program finalisation.
• Develop effective relations with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address needs, expectations and issues that may affect the successful delivery of projects.

Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
• Experience with road infrastructure design
• Strong technical capabilities

It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives of ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations.
