Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth (hybrid options available)
Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday (with site travel as required)
Fortescue is looking for a Principal, Employee Relations to join the Employee Relations team. The ideal candidate will be an ER/HR professional with strong passion and experience in complex workplace investigations and case management.
In this role you will work as part of a collaborative and supportive team that is committed to delivering fair and people focused advice and solutions in line with Fortescue's Values and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Building strong and trusted relationships with management and human resources teams in the relevant portfolio.
- Undertaking and managing investigations into workplace grievances or concerns.
- Providing practical and expert advice regarding Employee Relations issues, legislation, policies and procedures.
- Supporting the management of ER matters and providing support to the human resources team in relation to case management.
- Leading the delivery of Fortescue's Employee Relations strategies and projects for the relevant portfolio.
- Supporting the management of right of entries.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resource, Employee Relations, Industrial Relations or Employment Law, or relevant field.
- Practical experience in ER and/or HR case management (mining or heavy industry desirable, but applicants with experience in case management from other industries are encouraged to apply.)
- Demonstrated strength in working as part of a team and building strong relationships.
- Ability to manage and prioritise work and conflicting demands in a busy and changing environment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Sound ability to provide advice to all levels of the organisation.
- Coaching and building capability of leadership and other human resources functions.
- Strong focus on customer service and delivery.
