The Team
Our Enterprise Architecture (EA) Teams focus on defining the target state architectures to deliver on the strategic business and technology outcomes.
We set the technology direction of the group, and work with the business to develop the roadmap on how the target state architectures are delivered.
We support initiatives in validating the solution architecture and support our design teams to ensure reference architectures are incorporated in the detailed design of solutions. And we work with our IT Operations Teams to ensure closed loop learnings on the implemented architectures.
This role leads the BankWest Banking domain and reports into Head of Architecture, Retail Banking Services. This role has dotted line reporting to CIO of BankWest.
Do work that matters
People Management: t his role currently doesn't have any direct reports. It will have accountability to support and guide BankWest Solution Architecture team. Key responsibilities would include, but not limited to the following:
- Develops, maintains and communicates Enterprise Architectures blueprints, guardrails and architectural roadmaps for the domains in scope (BankWest), to ensure alignment with Group and BankWest Business and Technology strategies.
- Validates solution architectures against reference domain architecture blueprints, guardrails, policies and standards.
- Analyses change requirements and IT opportunities in enterprise business processes; provides resolutions for (EA) improvements by utilising new technological applications.
- Leads the adoption and contributes to the development of the architecture processes, controls, policies, standards and frameworks that are relevant for enabling delivery of the micro-services based architecture solutions in BankWest Banking Technology Division.
- Maintains and applies advanced knowledge of emerging technologies through regular attendance at industry events and investigate, prioritise and recommend improvements to target state architectures and with market leading technologies and industry trends.
- Communicates effectively at all levels from CIO/CTO/Heads of Business to our engineers and delivery team members.
- Develops and influences relationships with key stakeholders including General Managers and Business Unit/Technology Group Executive to ensure appropriate stakeholders are effectively engaged in the formulation of Architecture direction.

- Experience within the IT Industry/financial services or in business consulting
- Experience across multiple Architecture domains, including the implementation of Architecture in various large organisations
- Experience in strategy development or consulting
- Experience in delivering major business solutions into production within multiple project teams
- Experience in Financial Services, including understanding the architectures and technologies in use to deliver on Core Banking Services, including Product management (personal loans, credit cards, transactions & deposits).
- Experience with data and analytical driven decision making using EA repositories and dashboards.
- Expert in Digital and Assisted Channels architectures, including understanding the technologies in use to deliver on customer identity management, digital, and omni-channel enabling capabilities.
- Expert in development and adoption of the Services Based integration solutions and patterns
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline
Desirable:
- Post graduate qualifications
- People management experience
- Knowledge of BIAN industry standard
- Experience with BizzDesign or equivalent EA applications
