About the role
As a Principal Environmental Officer, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for providing advice to the department's Executive, minerals and energy sector, public and industry organisations and supporting environmental regulatory reform with continuous improvement and changes in the management approaches.
This role involves, coaching, mentoring, review of work from Environmental Officers, implementing best practice standards, achievements of the operational plan, and undertaking the assessments and inspections of resource projects for compliance with environmental regulatory requirements and enforcing activities aligned with the Division's programs and policies. Drawing on your extensive experience in environmental regulatory management and preparing regulatory reports, you will play a vital role in responding to complex regulatory and technical information.
Your skills in liaising with companies, industry organisations and other government agencies to form and maintain effective working relationships and your ability to promote community awareness of environment policy by developing relevant environmental regulatory policy will be key to your success in this role.
