·       Clerk Grade 11/12, Full Time Position

·       Initial temporary 12 month role, with opportunity to become ongoing

About the role

The Principal Executive Officer is responsible for leading and managing a team in the development, delivery and implementation of a portfolio of policy initiatives and reforms that support organisational objectives and Government commitments. Using your well developed communication, influencing and decision making skills, you will contribute to and oversee the preparation of briefings and provide expert advice to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive team, on current and emerging policy issues.

Working with key stakeholders, the successful candidate will provide expert advice and information regarding policies, briefings and ministerial correspondence, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

·       Leading and managing a team to support the Agency in meeting policy commitments, rolling out and implement significant policy initiatives providing high level support and advice for briefings and ministerial correspondence

·       Leading and undertaking research, analysis and review of complex policy issues, whilst also identifying emerging issues and developing evidence based options and strategies to ensure problems are resolved and risks mitigated

·       Developing and implementing strategies for the monitoring and evaluation of all policy initiatives to identify risks and issues and ensure the achievement of desired outcomes

·       Identifying and leading process and system improvements to enhance and support business requirements

·       Facilitating and overseeing the preparation of reports, briefs and correspondence to for the use of the Agency and Government departments

  •          To effectively collaborate, prioritise and communicate across different business areas,
  •          To problem solve and navigate complex policy matters.
  •   Experience in policy development, executive support service functions and process improvement is desirable.
