Whether we are writing a Will, acting as an executor, attorney, trustee, guardian, or financial manager, we are here for critical moments in our customers’ lives. Join our dedicated NSW Government agency and make a difference in the lives of over 47,000 people each year.

Our commitment to diversity

Our workplace reflects the diverse community we serve. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, experiences, and abilities. This includes women, people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, the LGBTI community and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.

About the role

  • Ongoing full-time vacancy. 35 hours per week.
  • Location: Parramatta.  Flexible and hybrid working options available.
  • Clerk Grade 7/8. Salary $106,025 to $117,363 plus super and annual leave loading.

About the team

The Financial Performance and Investments division provides a full range of financial services including budgeting, procurement, customer accounts and investment management services.

About the role

This role is responsible for the “nuts and bolts” of financial accounting for the Agency.  You’ll ensure that the reporting to Senior Leadership, NSW Treasury and external stakeholders is compliant and robust. You will be the “go to” person on a daily basis for accounting questions and advice from both internal and external stakeholders.

You will use your Chartered Accounting training to apply accounting guidelines daily in transactions, monthly in the book close, and annually participating in the Annual Financial Report preparation.

You will be strongly relied on by the Finance Director, Senior Manager of Budgeting and Reporting, and Manager External Reporting for providing the detailed status of the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.

For more information about the position, view the full role description.

About you

You work autonomously, but also collaboratively; eager to learn and ask questions when you need to.

You are proactive, always looking for opportunities for improvement both for the agency and in yourself.

Strong written and oral communication are required to support growth in the job and interact credibly with diverse stakeholders.

A solid background in a Financial Accounting role is ideal to set you up for success in this role; as well as strong overall capability and a desire to maximise your potential.

You’ve got demonstrated advanced level Excel skills for the manipulation, analysis and presentation of accounting information.

Advanced knowledge of SAP finance modules will be required in order to hit the ground running in this role.  Strong PowerBI expertise will also be an advantage.

Sound like you? We would love to hear from you!

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience in a relevant discipline or industry, such as accounting and finance.
