Your Opportunity
As the Principal Infrastructure Maintenance, Safety & Compliance Officer you will be responsible for:
Manage and coordinate internal and external workflows relating to capital and maintenance infrastructure investment as well as Fleet equipment.
Review and assess investment options and provide advice to Director, Asset Planning and Management as well as leadership of the Finance and Operations portfolio.
This position reports to the Director, Asset Planning and Management
This is a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity.
The position will be based primarily at Mt Gravatt however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure TAFE Queensland and Regional input into Project Control Groups (PCG's) for DESBT funded statewide capital safety and compliance projects and designs, including identifying, managing and building strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
Developing and managing Project Advisory Groups (PAG) with regions for signifant planned maintenance projects, statewide capital safety and compliance programs for each project in consultation and negotiation with impacted regions.
Assisting the Director Asset Planning and Management and regions with the development of project functional briefs, participating in project control group (PCG's), project design committees, contributing to design plans and tender documentation reviews and development of equipment lists.
Undertaking practical completion handovers ensuring projects are compliant with agreed specifications and quality, as required.
Managing the process for requests and review of equipment and ICT capital across TAFE Queensland including undertaking reviews in consultation with TAFE Queensland's Asset leadership team and appropriate ICT representation, providing advice and recommendations for decision making and communicating decisions across the organisation.
Develop in consultation with regions a future looking (rolling 3-5 year) planned maintenance program for TAFE Queensland as part of DESBT's annual planning process.
Ensuring that the approved DESBT Annual Maintenance Program is implemented and completed efficiently.
Identifying statewide implications of capital (equipment and ICT) equipment requests, negotiating and consulting with regions to manage the development of scope and requirements, working collaboratively with the procurement team, as required.
Managing the asset information management system (i.e. Archibus) from a TAFE Queensland perspective and working collaboratively with DESBT and DEPW on system related issues to provide maximum functionality and benefits.
Maintaining and ensuring the integrity of the fleet asset schedule/register through the accurate and timely management of insurance obligations and renewals, .
Managing and assisting in the development and undertaking annual monitoring for fleet, maintenance and facilitiy related policies and procedures and providing recommendations to TAFE Queensland's Asset leadership team.
Provision of quality information for budget and reporting processes (internal and external), including forecasting and variance analysis.
Ensuring all budget implications (capital, operational and third party outgoings recovery) are communicated to the appropriate TAFE Queensland stakeholders.
Reporting all relevant issues and outcomes to Director, Asset Planning and Management to ensure escalation through appropriate channels.

Significant record of achievement in asset management related roles.
Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication, skills and abilities including liaison, consultation and negotiation in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated high levels of conceptual and analytical skills as evidenced by the ability to research and develop solutions to complex situations, and clearly document work flows and systems.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability in utilising and administering financial / asset management systems.
Knowledge of or the ability to acquire knowledge of, legislation, government policies and accounting guidelines in relation to the effective management of assets within a public sector environment.
Highly Desirable Requirements
Two to five years facilities operations and infrastructure capital and maintenance experience
