About the roleThe newly created role of Quality and Compliance OfficerChild Safety is a permanent fulltime position based in Townsville. The Quality and Compliance Officer will report to the General Manager Child Safety to support the overall function of the quality of service and Compliance with the Human Services Quality Framework and Child Protection legislative requirements.
Main duties:
- contributing to the development, implementation and review of Child Safety related policies, procedures and associated schedules with a view to maintaining compliance with the Child Safety Standards and support the organisation to become certified
- supporting the development, review and updating of internal documents ensuring they use consistent language, terminology and references
- review, analyse, and make mitigation recommendations on incident reports for the program
- maintain the Hope and Healing training register and program for the organisation.
- maintain the Licensed Care Service (LCS) requirements for the organisation, all submissions, reapprovals and organisation maintenance of these checks. Maintain LCS compliance requirements of the organisation.
- maintain the Child Safety program risk register.
- auditing and review individual child and young person files to ensure adherence to the HSQF and legislative standards.
- supporting the development and adherence to document control processes including maintenance of selectability’s Policy and Procedure register
- supporting the development of initiatives to maintain a workplace of continuous improvement, using best practice principles and adhering to compliance requirements
- analysing data, identifying trends and writing reports
- supporting engagement across the footprint to embed a culture of compliance and quality management, best practice, innovation for continuous improvement
- developing effective stakeholder relationships at all levels of the organisation, including relevant third parties
To be considered for this rewarding role you will have:
- Cert IV in Child Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent (highly desirable)
- Certificate IV in Compliance and Risk or relevant studies (highly desirable)
- demonstrated experience in Child Safety, risk and quality frameworks
- demonstrated experience in Child Safety audit processes and certification
- understanding of NDIS, National Mental Health, is desirable
- understanding of HSQF and Child Safety is highly desirable
- Maintain a strong knowledge and application of the HSQF standards and child protection legislative requirements
- experience writing policies and procedures and developing processes and systems to support quality improvement
- strong written & verbal communication skills
- a commitment to best practice
- ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- ability to travel across our footprint from time to time, to remote locations
- the ability to work flexible hours ( some out of hours work required)
- most importantly… a positive attitude
You will also need:
- a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence
- a currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive insured vehicle
- a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain prior to commencement)
- a current yellow card exemption or an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain prior to commencement)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You' completion certificate (visit https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au to access this free module). at completion of the course, you will be provided with a certificate of completion which you can forward to **@selectability.com.au
