The Principal Lead - Health Promotion position provides strategic leadership and expertise for the design, coordination, implementation and evaluation of complex Health Promotion strategies and interventions to improve health and prevent illness.
The position also provides specialised advice and analysis of preventive health strategies and interventions at the state and national level.
Key accountabilities include:
- Provide high level expertise in the application of evidence, theory and judgement in planning, implementing and evaluating preventive health programs and interventions in a range of settings.
- Provide high-level authoritative advice to senior management, partners, and other stakeholders including members of the public, to influence strategic policy and delivery of complex and/or innovative preventive health interventions.
- Lead the implementation of complete strategic programs of work, ensuring the alignment, efficient execution and successful achievement of organisation objectives.
- Analyse and convey complex ideas and information to a range of stakeholders in relation to preventive health programs and initiatives.
- Lead collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders and partners to build preventive health capacity and improve the delivery of preventive health programs and interventions.
- Strategically monitor preventive health initiatives, objectives and strategies based on the analysis of data and ensure findings are shared to build the evidence base and improve preventive health planning and implementation.
- Lead a small team, including coaching to improve performance and develop strengths, foster a collaborative working environment and ensure effective team processes.
