Our Business
Brisbane Infrastructure (BI) brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.
Our Branch
Transport Planning and Operations (TPO) have a key role to play in planning and maintaining Council's transport network and in implementing the Transport Plan for Brisbane to enable the efficient and sustainable movement of people and freight.

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Program Manager to provide strategic support to the Program Director, for the program management of Council’s Infrastructure for Brisbane Program, including delivery of transport and infrastructure portfolios, projects, and network and asset maintenance initiative.
This role includes developing and influencing effective rolling programs, maintaining strong governance, demonstrating accountability of associated budgets, and providing strategic technical advice to achieve program benefits and outcomes.
As the Principal Program Manager, you will:
- strategically program manage Council’s Infrastructure for Brisbane program ensuring the portfolio delivers best outcomes for our community through
- lead portfolio and project management teams through prioritising team development, providing technical advice and prioritising stakeholder engagements to ensure collective excellence in program and portfolio management
- strategically prioritise infrastructure and transport investment to enable a prioritised rolling pipeline of works to be developed and maintained
- anticipate current and emerging program related issues and provide relevant strategic, expert and technical advice
- ensure effective and timely monitoring and reporting on the performance of the portfolio and associated budgets
- actively represent the interests of Council and the Infrastructure for Brisbane program to key stakeholders
- exercise discretion and compassion in dealing with sensitive, complex and contentious issues.
To be successful you will have:
- evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint to deliver performance excellence and a values-based culture
- experience and expertise in leading diverse portfolios in large complex infrastructure and transport programs and teams.
- strong leadership capabilities to align a broad range of capabilities and capacities across internal and external stakeholder groups to achieve best outcomes for our communities
- demonstrated ability to strategically prioritise and influence investment across infrastructure and transport networks and assets
- high-level ability to monitor and report on program performance and provide high quality strategic and policy advice
- demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage the development and coordination of activities associated with program management
- leadership experience with the ability to build and maintain relationships for positive outcomes in a complex stakeholder environment
- significant ability and experience in providing high quality professional advice, interpretation across a diverse range of strategic, policy, business, and operational issues, within a complex environment.
