Principal Project Controls

About the Company:
Our client is a major EPCM based in WA. The successful candidate will be working within a busy project team, across a major project within minerals processing.
 
The position on offer is for a Project Controls Lead/Principal Project Controls that will be responsible for leading a large team and working hands-on across the project portfolio. 

The candidate will ideally be from a planning background, however needs a high level of technical expertise from their chosen discipline and an understanding of the other. 
 
The successful MUST have:

• 10+ years’ experience in a similar role on large projects.
• Working technical knowledge of both cost/planning highly regarded.
• High level of capability in cost requried.
• Ability to influence key stakeholders.
• Ability to proactively manage a team and provide guidance and leadership.
• Experience in all facets of Project Controls including but not limited to; planning, cost control, document control and Project Controls reporting.
• Understanding of Projects from concept through to commissioning.
• Experienced in a wide range of project control tools and work processes.

 
Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of Project Controls to support current and future project development and construction.
• Provide leadership and direction to the Project Controls team and oversee the team to meet agreed project objectives and outcomes.
• Responsible for the development of integrated schedules.
• Building CTR's for proposals. 
• Ensuring support of the Projects Group with progress reporting including schedule updates, forecast to complete, variance identification and opportunities for improvement.
• Review and maintain the company work breakdown structure (WBS) for reporting.
• Embed and develop a strong project culture built on the company’s values.
• Ability to proactively manage key stakeholders and influence.
