In this role you will assist the OWHSP with the provision of an effective prosecutions service, including by providing authoritative and timely legal advice, assessing briefs of evidence, appearing in sentences and hearings, and by managing the conduct of trials and appeals. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including investigators, legal professionals and other experts.

We'll consider:
- Ability to interpret and provide authoritative legal advice (both written and verbal) on statutory law with particular emphasis on prosecution issues involving, primarily, Resources Safety Acts and WHS Acts matters, including the sufficiency of evidence.
- Ability to appear on breaches of statutory law including the ability to apply these skills in a work health and safety, resource safety and health, electrical safety and safety in recreational waters context.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare matters for trial or sentence, including drafting correspondence and negotiations, with limited supervisions or direction.
- Demonstrated ability to work with, and coordinate outcomes within a multidisciplinary team, meeting tight timeframes and devising flexible solutions to prosecution/litigation matters.
- High level consultative, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, especially with regard to effectively communicating complex information to a multidisciplinary work group.
