My client (One of the region's largest local government organisations) is seeking a Principal Procurement Specialist.
This is a senior position in the team responsible for the implementation of best practice procurement across a range of procurement specialisations including Sourcing, Category Management, Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management. The Principal Procurement Specialist provides specialist procurement advice for strategically important contracts/procurement matters and drives the delivery of value for money through the development and execution of best practice categories and sourcing strategies.
To be suitable for this role, you must provide demonstrated project management experience, and excellent time management skills to achieve proficiency and effectiveness in managing conflicting priorities and meeting deadlines, well-developed and proven negotiation skills, with an ability to balance price/quality/relationship trade-offs with suppliers to achieve optimal value for money, act as a point of escalation for procurement matters requiring strategic specialist advice (i.e High Value / High-Risk contacts), Lead strategic negotiations with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers, undertake value chain analysis, design, and implementation to deliver improved outcomes for Council customers and to optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of the value chain.
- Must have Current C Class Drivers Licence.
- Member of the Charted Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or similar - desirable.
- Degree in Contract Management, Procurement, business or another relevant field, or extensive experience in a similar position.
- Must provide 2x Reference Checks.
- Must pass a Criminal History Check.
Applicants should possess relevant experience in a related position or a position that demands comparable skills. This should include a proven track record in amenity horticultural practices, like maintaining and managing parks and gardens, as well as expertise in operating pertinent maintenance tools. Moreover, candidates should have substantial experience in carrying out manual duties with a keen focus on safety protocols.
