The Role:
As a Privacy Assistant, you will be working within the Legal Services team to provide operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by a sound knowledge of privacy legislation and policies.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Remediating a range of privacy complaints and incidents in a timely manner.
- Ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Undertaking projects on an ad-hoc basis.
- Maintaining excellent working relationships with clients and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting the implementation of new systems, processes and practical tools within the Privacy team.
- Building capability and expertise within the team, sharing knowledge and awareness across the Agency and working in accordance with the highest professional and ethical standards.
- Knowledge of the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act) would be highly regarded.
- Competency, or ability to develop competency, in working with requirements of the Privacy Act.
- Experience coordinating and responding to incidents and complaints in accordance with Privacy obligations.
- Ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
- Competent with IT Systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Having a strong interest or previous experience with the Disability Sector would be an advantage.
