Based out of the picturesque Gold Coast this is a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to secure there dream job on the water.
The successful candidate will become a vital member of the vessel's senior management team with key responsibilities and skills listed below:
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Captain with administrative and safety duties
- Ensuring that the yacht is in all respects compliant with the relevant laws and maritime regulations (ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL)
- Ensuring that the yacht is prepared for annual flag surveys, annual class surveys and port/flag state controls
- Ensuring that the yacht is maintained to industry standards
- Management of deck crew and maintaining crew discipline
- Arranging regular safety drills
- Weekly and monthly safety checks and maintenance
- Conducting safety familiarizations and safety training for the crew on a regular basis
- Setting watch-keeping schedules
- Watch-keeping duties
- Navigation and passage planning
- Keeping all charts and publications up to date
- Overseeing docking procedures
- Maintenance and management of all toys and tenders
- Overall responsibility of the exterior of the yacht
- Inventories
Required Skills - Ability to stand in for captain in his absence
- Ability to lead crew, work as a team member, delegate as required, a positive motivator, an effective communicator, organized, diplomatic and versatile
- Excellent boat handling, watch keeping and navigational skills
- Excellent ISM and ISPS knowledge and practices
- Extensive maintenance knowledge and skills; deck related products, cleaning products and systems, painting, varnishing, rope splicing, fiberglass, carpentry, outboard motors operation & maintenance, waverunners & jetskiis
- Basic engineering knowledge useful
- Advanced knowledge of all water sports
- Computer skills
The successful candidate will have a minimum 3 years experience in this role and hold the relevant maritime certificates & safety certificates.
