Quick overview of the role
The role of the Procedure Writer is to consult and facilitate successful technical process risk reviews and the formalising of operational procedures to support the needs of the organisation. The role is responsible for facilitating and carrying out hands-on consultative documentation reviews, including the creation and implementation of new procedures for supporting the training and competency, and learning and development outcomes across the company, ensuring these documents are registered and published within the approved company document management system.

What will you be doing?

  • Consult with production and network workgroups to establish baseline work practices and needs analysis gaps, integrating industry best practice.
  • Facilitate consultation reviews across departments of identified overarching common procedures for alignment and consistency.
  • Provide visualised progress updates on allocated project work for management meeting forums.
  • Develop process maps and workflows utilising critical thinking to ensure full understanding of the documentation required.
  • Carry out task observations to effectively review process risks and safe working practices.
  • Maintaining a high standard of consultation and communication that facilitates positive interaction between the key internal stakeholders.
  • Assist to develop and maintain a document control hierarchy, content standards, formatting standards, and user-friendly templates for company documents, including the management of redundant and superseded documents, and setting continuous review cycles.
  • Assist to maintain the approved master document register and critical records for the company.
  • Develop user-friendly risk assessments and safe work procedures in line with any relevant codes of practice or standards and propose complementing training guides that meet the procedural learning needs of operational teams.
  • Assist with the communication and training preparation of new and revised documents.
  • Improve existing document usability and readability through high-quality content, structure, and formatting while paying high attention to detail.
  • Review and analyse current processes and procedures and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in maintaining the company document database ensuring a high level of integrity and compliance.
  • Carry out other duties as reasonably required to meet strategic objectives.

What are we looking for in the successful candidate?
  • A current C-Class Drivers Licence
  • Intermediate to Advanced level Microsoft Office 365 skills
  • A high degree of professionalism and communication skills that facilitate positive interaction between stakeholders that builds relationships
  • Highly skilled in written language/ grammar and attention to detail
  • High level of numeracy, literacy, and IT skills
  • Critical thinking and research skills
  • Strong time management skills ensuring delivery of tasks to a high standard
  • Technical writing capability and experience implementing and continuously reviewing systems, procedures, and processes
  • Experience in WHS conducting risk assessments and operational risk reviews.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and positively with internal and external customers
  • Proactive, strategic thinking to achieve the best possible outcome while maintaining the highest possible HSEQ standards.
