The Appointment:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Process Control Engineer to join the engineering team and take over from our long-standing team member, who is heading to retirement.
As the Process Control Engineer, you will be responsible for the regular tuning, adjustments, and monitoring of machinery at the power station. You will collaborate closely with the Control System Engineer, to ensure seamless operation and problem-solving for our plant's control systems. Your primary focus will be on maintaining the performance of the boilers, with an opportunity to improve processes when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly tune and adjust machine operations using the control system.
- Monitor the performance of the plant's boilers, with a focus on sustaining current efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including the engineering team, boiler engineer, turbine engineer, operations department, and subcontractors.
- Train the operations team on any changes to operation and related procedures.
- Plan and execute maintenance during plant outages and downtime to resolve issues proactively.
- Proven experience with boilers in an industrial setting. Experience with coal boilers is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of ABB Harmony software or a willingness to learn.
- Enjoys fixing things and problem-solving.
