Process Control Engineer with mineral processing experience within the mining sector

$85 – $90 PH + Super

• Mineral Processing plant – Iron ore

Our client is a global owner operator within the heavy mineral processing / mining sector. In Australia, they own and operate this iron ore brownfield mine. This specific site has another 20 years of iron ore production. 
 
About the role and client:
 
The position is for an Operational Technology Engineer OR Process Control Engineer with Mining / Mineral Processing plant experience and associated equipment. A high level of understanding of Electrical Engineering and Network Engineering is needed to fulfill this role. The position also requires someone who understands networking and telemetry-based systems between PLC’s on a mine site.

• Must have proven experience within the mineral processing sector.
• Execute Layer 3 switching with proficiency.
• Implement basic cybersecurity best practices and standards.
• Demonstrate experience in virtualization and server maintenance (Essential).
• Utilize CIMPLICITY SCADA and GE Historian to enhance system efficiency (Advantageous).
• Possess knowledge of communication protocols (Essential).
• Hands-on experience with Firewall, particularly Palo Alto (Essential).

Skills & Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with control systems experience.
• Proficiency in Moxa and Cisco (Advantageous).
• Familiarity with PLC and SCADA control systems, radio, and telemetry-based time series data (TETRA DAMM Communication Systems).
• Experience with Historian Platform, Proficy Historian 2022, P2.
• Knowledge of IT - Cybersecurity associated with OT network.
• Familiarity with Profibus DP and PA, Modbus/TCP Siemens, ABB GE Proficy.
