Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth
The Process Control Engineers position is responsible for maintaining the SCADA system and wider assets associated with the Process Control network, this includes providing assistance to users of the Process Control system, reviewing & implementing changes requested by engineering, maintenance and operational groups and identifying areas for improvement across soft and hard Process Control assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Practice - anticipate and proactively resolve potential problems to ensure a zero-harm environment through the design and formulation of technical solutions
- Design and develop new control systems including testing, maintaining, and modifying existing systems to ensure optimal utilisation
- Liaise with relevant departments to provide technical solutions for operational support and projects
- Technical Knowledge - Continue to develop processing and Process Control knowledge & skills to deliver continuous business improvements
- Build cooperative relationships to design new equipment and/or systems in conjunction with internal and external experts
- Support the ongoing maintenance of control systems assets including PLCs, servers, network and communication equipment, and field devices
- Ensure the plant control system availability for production to ensure that OPF meets or exceeds business targets safely.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant qualifications (electrical/instrumentation/control systems/mechatronics or similar)
- Strong Communication Skills
- Significant knowledge of fixed plant Control Systems
- Processing plant knowledge across Dry plants, Wet plants & Balance Machines preferred
- Ability to understand P&ID, Electrical, Mechanical and Hydraulic drawings preferred
- Experienced in Control System Continuous Improvements
- Emerson(GE) SCADA Cimplicity, Historian, CSense
- Working knowledge of Server and Client architecture
- PLC/SCADA Programming (Ladder, FBD, ST, SFC, Visual Basic) ideally with exposure to Emmerson(GE), Siemens and Schneider
- Communications (Devicenet, Profibus [DP/PA], Profinet, Ethernet, Modbus)
- VSD knowledge (ABB and Vacon)
