Kimberley Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (KMS) is a 50/50 joint venture between Sheffield Resources Limited and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel). The Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon, leucoxene, and rutile, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome.

About the Role
Residing in the West Kimberley and reporting to the Supervisor Processing, this is an exciting opportunity for a Process Operator to join our growing mining company, responsible for the safe and effective day-to-day operation of the processing plant.
This role will be required to work within a team environment to achieve key production outputs through the operation of all areas of the processing plant including the Wet Concentrator Plant (WCP), Concentrator Upgrade Plant (CUP) and the Control Room.
Site based roster: 8 days on 6 off, 7 nights on 7 off
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain operating parameters and through puts of the plant from the Control Room
- Observe equipment in a manner that assists maintenance personnel with identifying emerging issues
- Ensure all identified issues are reported to the relevant personnel
- Ensure handover information is clear, concise and includes challenges experienced and solutions implemented during the shift
- Ensure designated area of work is kept clean and free of debris and obstacles through pro-active work environment management
About You
- Hold a current WA C-Class driver’s licence
- Completion of Certificate III in Resource Planning or willingness to obtain
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication skills, across all levels of the organisation
- Desire to transfer acquired skills and knowledge to new operators with less experience
- Current Working at Heights & Confined Space Tickets, or willingness to obtain
- Ability to operate wheel loader and skid steer would be advantageous
