Stratton is seeking applications for an experienced results-driven Process Plant Manager to join our clients growing team. This is a permanent opportunity based at our client’s mining operation in the Mt Isa region on an 8/6 FIFO roster.
This business-critical position is responsible for the effective and safe operation of the processing plant to support the short and long-term strategy in line with the business plan.
The Processing Plant Manager will play a crucial role in designing and managing strategies and systems to ensure optimum processing plant performance and recovery as our client considerably ramps up production. The Processing Plant Manager is responsible for leading and providing mentoring and technical leadership to the processing department while demonstrating commitment to safety, culture, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize Plant Operations, implement strategies to streamline Process Plant operations while maintaining cost-efficiency.
- Cost Management, manage operational costs in alignment with allocated budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Personnel Management and Team Leadership, train, and supervise personnel with the appropriate skill set to sustain optimal production levels. Be able to inspire the Processing team, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes efficiency.
- Critical Spares Management, oversee the procurement and maintenance of critical spares to minimize downtime and enhance operational resilience.
- Laboratory Oversight, work closely with the Laboratory team to ensure accurate sampling and testing procedures, verifying the plant's proper functioning.
- Collaborative Management, coordinate with the Technical Service Superintendent to manage the laboratory effectively and maintain quality control standards.
- Plant Optimization and Upgrades, actively participate in plant design discussions and spearhead initiatives for plant upgrades to enhance throughput and efficiency.
What you'll need to be successful:
- Qualifications in Metallurgy, Process Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
- S1, S2, S3 Queensland Supervision certification.
- 10 year’s experience in resource processing operations.
- Project, team, and contractor management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with Pronto software.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets.
- Valid Queensland driver's license.
- Strong report writing skills.
- Indigenous Cultural Awareness
- Competence in team safety management.
- Basic first aid certification.
