Come and discover the opportunity to join our Finishing team at our Western Port Manufacturing facility as a Process Specialist. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have five major manufacturing sites at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers.
This role is a 12-month secondment, working Monday to Friday will see you supporting all aspects of process production as you apply your technical, analytical and continuous improvement skills to the forefront of everything you do. Working collaboratively with Operations, Quality and Maintenance, you’ll support process improvements through process monitoring, data gathering & analysis, whilst championing a safety-first culture.

What Will You Do?
With your analytical, hands-on approach you will:
- monitor process performance through auditing of key process parameters & reporting on anomalies
- be comfortable building rapport with multi-disciplinary teams as you learn and gather information about the various processes on the production line
- identify and improve the outcomes of technology and operational processes
- working directly with production teams to understand & report on key process inefficiencies
- embed an improvement mindset, whilst working closely with cross functional teams on projects to address areas of inefficiency and improve performance and process
- be the department’s Environment representative, overseeing environmental incidents and keeping abreast of department’s performance to environmental targets
More About You
Along with your technical skills, you will have experience in applying your analytical skills to address process performance. You will also bring:
- either tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Chemical/Process) or experience working in a similar manufacturing area
- a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others
- developed communication and influencing skills - building constructive and effective relationships
- the ability to prioritise work and resolve problems effectively and efficiently with a hands-on approach
- an understanding of Lean systems or methodologies is preferred but not essential
