Role Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Assistant to join our procurement team. This role is integral to ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our purchasing operations, supporting the procurement of goods and services essential for the day-to-day operations of our Tier 1 Mining Clients. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working in a dynamic, culturally rich environment and contributing to the success of an Indigenous-owned business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the procurement of goods and services, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and negotiating prices.
- Submitting competitive quotes that lead to conversion of purchase orders with our key customers
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Work closely with the finance department to reconcile invoices and payments.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in managing stock replenishment.
- Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and products.
- Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve any procurement-related issues.
- Contribute to the maintenance of supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with contracts and agreements.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
- Proven experience in a procurement or purchasing role is highly regarded.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Passion for supporting Indigenous businesses and communities.
- Knowledge of the Indigenous culture and communities in Western Australia is an advantage.
