A leading NSW Government Department is looking for Procurement Manager to join their team on a 7 month contract.
Lead and manage a team to deliver the procurement and sourcing process including strategic planning and execution, sourcing and contract management, supply market management and development, and risk management activities ensuring compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, to achieve best value for money and meet stakeholder expectation and business objectives.
Key accountabilities
- Lead and manage the team to deliver best value for money in procurement and sourcing activities adhering to Government processes, procedures, and priorities to meet stakeholder expectations and achieve organizational objectives
- Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and supply chain risks consolidating opportunities for improvement and innovation to minimize negative impacts on sourcing objectives
- Lead negotiations on high impact, complex supply arrangements and contract issues to deliver improved efficiencies, cost savings and high-quality procurement outcomes
- Oversee and manage end to end contract management activities including uplifting teams’ capability in delivering best practice customer service and stakeholder engagement to achieve the delivery of contractual obligation to agreed standards
- Provide expert, strategic advice to key customers and stakeholders on all aspects of procurement to encourage innovative practices and support the delivery of business and policy directions
- Contribute and support the development and implementation of best practice innovative solutions and procurement strategies to optimise value for money outcomes and meet business objectives
- Manage and maintain relationships with suppliers to identify and minimise risks and resolve issues to ensure that key performance indicators and optimise service outcomes
- Lead the development of evidence-based procurement strategies, policies and processes to achieve quality and continuity of supply, procurement savings and improved business outcomes
- Leading and managing complex negotiations with diverse stakeholders, given their varying expectations, viewpoints and interests, and dealing with and resolving complex procurement and sourcing issues within agreed timelines to meet project deliverables
- Managing and providing appropriate direction and support to cross-functional teams while ensuring the delivery of timely and innovative procurement solutions
- Aligning sourcing strategies to provide the best procurement outcomes for the business given potentially competing priorities while leading multiple, high visibility procurements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement or contract management and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience in a procurement environment
