Overview of the role
This is a great opportunity for an internal Suncorp procurement professional to use your current experiences to drive positive change within procurement. You will have the expertise to improve policy, process and governance within procurement working with other key initiative Procurement Managers.
You will support a coordinated approach to the Corporate Category teams on all strategic projects including, but not limited to, key procurement initiatives, category management and stakeholder engagement strategies.
The role has a project oriented focus, and your category experience will be ideal to help with sourcing events and the sourcing process for specific initiatives.

What you'll do:
- Identify and collaborate with key stakeholders, internal customers and suppliers to ensure quality, cost effectiveness and efficiency in the Corporate Category teams and the broader category management teams.
- Support continuous improvement programs to optimise Procurement processes and policy.
- Support implementation of strategic projects and work closely with the Manager New Key Initiatives to drive improvements across Procurement
- Develop and grow subject matter expertise on the Ariba platform to assist in process improvements and optimization of the tool for the Category teams.
- Plan and execute communications strategies/ reporting to ensure accurate and timely flow of information to the Corporate Category teams, internal stakeholders and externally to suppliers where appropriate.
- Enhance the operating model and governance for transactional buying in the Category teams and monitor and manage the tail to deliver competitive tension and reduce contractual risk..
- Identify potential contract improvement opportunities & re-negotiations that deliver accelerated sourcing for end customers and manage the supplier risk of such engagements.
What you'll bring:
- 10 + years Procurement experience across multiple industry sectors.
- Full sourcing lifecycle experience and complex project experience essential.
- Customer focus under the new Group Operating Model using Customer Platforms and multiple customer focused functions.
- Strong coaching, development and leadership skills.
- Category management planning and relentless execution capabilities.
- Technical knowledge in best practice supply chain, sourcing, category management, contracting, risk and change management, finance systems, data and cost benefit analysis.
- Cross-functional expertise and stakeholder management with an ability to partner and collaborate with multiple leaders, functions and suppliers.
- Interpersonal skills to lead, build an engaged, service focused and enabled, team, consult, negotiate, communicate, influence and sell
