This critical role is responsible for developing and executing best-in-class sourcing strategies and contract management aligned with strategic priorities and business needs. The position focuses on procuring direct materials and supporting indirect purchasing to drive the lowest total cost while maintaining service levels and improving working capital for profitable business growth. The role involves partnering with business stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams to manage procurement activities and support supply chain optimisation programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Key Relationships, oversee the relationship with key partners;
- Create procurement and category strategies in alignment with business and functional stakeholders;
- Lead Initiatives and execute key procurement initiatives to deliver value;
- Promote a zero-injury performance culture;
- Drive value and build a three-year pipeline of initiatives to unlock value and reduce costs;
- Contract lifecycle management with year-on-year improvements;
- Developing at least one category strategy with full business alignment each year;
- Supporting major supplier relationship issues and commercial disputes;
- Measuring and managing Supplier Performance (SIFOT); and
- Reducing net working capital/Days Of Inventory.
- Significant categories spend management experience;
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing with a commercial focus;
- Strong business acumen and commercial savvy;
- Understanding of procurement concepts and processes;
- Experience with import sourcing and strategic sourcing methodology;
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills;
- Supplier management and development (VRM);
- Project management skills;
- Effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration;
- Ability to analyse and draw conclusions from complex business and market data; and
- Experience with SAP and Coupa.
- Relevant degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Commerce
- Preferred 5-8 years of relevant procurement and supply chain management experience.
