About the role
The Procurement Officer is primarily responsible for executing procurement activities as per the established Supply Chain Process and assist with procurement and warehouse activities as and when required. Procurement Officer works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of procurement activities and enhance operational efficiencies.
Key objectives & responsibilities include:
- Administer procurement activities for materials and services to Austal Shipyard & In Service Support (ISS).
- Administer compliance to preferred supplier agreements against pre-determined pricing & objectives.
- Prepare & present purchase orders, award letter or subcontract compliance paperwork.
- Maintain Purchase order reporting & procurement governance compliance.
- Direct issues through the supplier corrective action process and maintain quality assurance.
- Undertake regular bench marking activities to ensure Austal is securing best price for goods and services.
- Provide support to Senior Procurement Officer.
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
- Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
- 3+ Years relevant experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing or equivalent business
- Proven capability and experience in the above key duties and experience in the engineering or manufacturing environments.
- Must possess a good technical knowledge of the goods, materials and/or services procured to ensure satisfactory quality and performance.
- Computer literate with process and systems competency.
