Your Opportunity
As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for providing quality food purchasing and distribution service for TAFE Queensland Brisbane involving the replenishment, receipt, and issue of food stock to relevant sections, in accordance with TAFE Queensland Brisbane’s standards, policies, processes, systems and requirements.
This position sits in the Faculty of Tourism Hospitality and Personal Services and reports to the Delivery Support Manager.
This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to 27 December 2024 unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily at South Bank Campus however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Commerciality, Teamwork, Innovation and Accountability.
- Supervise and coordinate the Inventory and Procurement team to ensure quality food purchasing and distribution services are in accordance with TAFE Queensland’s standards, policies, processes, and requirements.
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Inventory and Procurement team and food store, to ensure stock levels of all perishable and non-perishable food products are maintained.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and maintain effective communication to ensure the delivery of food supplies meets client requirements.
- Undertake regular stock takes to ensure stock levels are maintained in accordance with client requirements.
- Administer and maintain required stock records for all receipts and issues of food products.
- Provide advice to staff and management regarding relevant procedures and processes.
- Administer and apply effective recording procedures with regards to cost, timeliness, quality, fairness, compliance with specifications and client satisfaction.
- Develop, implement, and review systems, policies, procedures, workflows and forms, to continuously improve work processes and encourage initiative and effective solutions in the Operations unit.
- Undertake accurate and efficient administrative services utilising various software packages (including, MYOB, word processing, spread sheeting, data input and email), internal databases and office equipment.
- Undertake research and analysis on matters relating to business functions.
- Maintain a current knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures and processes relevant to TAFE Queensland Brisbane as well as an understanding of TAFE Queensland’s products and services.
- Undertake other work as directed.

- Ability to supervise a team and organise, track and prioritise tasks to meet set deadlines, displays flexibility and responsiveness with a strong commitment to working in a team environment.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral, including the ability to manage conflicting priorities and to liaise with all levels of management and staff.
- Well-developed skills in the use and application of computerised management information systems and software applications, especially MYOB and Microsoft Office programs.
- Proven experience in building and sustaining productive internal and external stakeholder relationships and working collaboratively to foster a positive and cohesive work environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to the values of the organisation through modelling behaviours and the provision of outstanding client service.
Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements
- There are no mandatory requirements for this role.
Highly Desirable Requirements
- Minimum Cert III in business, administration or similar; or a willingness to obtain qualifications is highly regarded.
- Knowledge or experience with Inventory Management; or
- Prior experience within the Hospitality Industry.
