Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Procurement Officer to join their dynamic team. What you'll do:
As a Procurement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of procurement activities within the organisation. You will be responsible for conducting thorough market research, managing supplier due diligence processes, leading tender processes, distributing purchase orders, reviewing pricing reports, undertaking spend analysis and developing sourcing strategies. Your ability to prioritise tasks effectively will be crucial in this role as you navigate through complex procurement lifecycle activities. Your commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy in contract documentation will be highly valued.
- Undertake continual supply market research using various research tools and maintain up-to-date knowledge of supply market across direct and indirect spend categories
- Manage all supplier due diligence, business information and ensure all supplier agreement information is captured in relevant systems with accurate data
- Conduct periodic review and audit of supplier master information in relevant financial systems to ensure the Supplier data is current and accurate
- Ensure the accurate collection of contract documentation with external suppliers/service providers
- Undertake and lead the tender process with the coordination of tender assessments, tender publishing, and tender assessment details
- Conduct due diligence with purchase order requests and ensuring all appropriate checks are completed accordingly
- Distribute the purchase orders to suppliers by ensuring due diligence and engagement of relevant process and procedures
- Receipt of goods in relevant systems, in consultation with the Warehouse Manager and ensure invoices are paid upon physical receipt of goods
- Review price and quantity mismatch reports on daily basis and initiate follow up actions including goods receipts, Purchase Order variations
- Undertake spend analysis and reporting, by supplier, by business units and develop and recommend sourcing strategies

The ideal Procurement Officer will bring a wealth of experience from large and complex organisations, with a proven track record in supporting procurement lifecycle activities. Your expertise in sourcing and purchasing functions will be invaluable in this role. You will have demonstrated experience in analysing procurement and contract-related data. Your exceptional communication skills will enable you to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Your excellent planning and organisational skills will ensure that tasks are completed within agreed timeframes. Your ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently, will be crucial for success in this role.
- Tertiary qualification in Business or Finance or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Demonstrated experience in large and complex organisations supporting procurement lifecycle activities which include but not limited to key procurement strategies, tender process and supplier agreements
- Demonstrated experience in sourcing and purchasing functions
- Demonstrated experience in the analysis of procurement and contracts related data
- Highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks to achieve objectives within agreed timeframes and to required standards
- Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of a team, as well as the ability to exercise independence, sound judgement and initiative including addressing issues and overcoming obstacles
- Excellent computer skills or substantial experience in using ERP systems (Ellipse preferred) and business software packages in particular Microsoft Office, Adobe skills
