Allygroup is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join an Executive Agency within the Finance Portfolio for a term of three to six months under a labour hire arrangement.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team and play a key role in supporting the agency by providing procurement expertise and assisting stakeholders to plan, develop, source, and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives.
Candidates must be Canberra-based, available to work on a full-time basis, and hold an Australian Government baseline security clearance.
The duties of the role include:
conducting thorough reviews of procurement documentation, including purchase requisitions, quotations, and contracts
ensuring compliance with organisational procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
verifying accuracy and completeness of procurement documents, including pricing, specifications, and terms and conditions
identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues in procurement processes
collaborating with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and clarify procurement requirements
establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including liaison, negotiation, and consultation
providing high-level administrative and procurement support and managing confidential and sensitive information
delivering support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Guidelines, Procurement Policy and procedures, and ensuring value for money-based outcomes
identifying opportunities for improvements and contributing to the continuous development of procurement processes
providing internal and external stakeholders with quality and timely advice
The ideal candidates will have:
demonstrated experience in government procurement and contract management
demonstrated ability to learn and use Financial Management Information Software (such as SAP)
good analytical skills with proven attention to detail
experience in Microsoft Office suite especially Excel
demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written
demonstrated experience managing high volume requests and ability to multitask
stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
professional document writing experience
An understanding of government procurement and financial processes will be highly regarded.
