The Role
The Procurement and Contracting Assurance Officer plays a crucial role in assuring Defence’s Procurement and contract management practices, to support groups and services to improve compliance and performance.
This will be achieved through undertaking a variety of assurance activities, including deep dive reviews, spot checks, health checks and data monitoring. The final result being the identification of focus areas for improvement and reporting outcomes to senior leaders across Defence.
As part of the team, the Procurement and Contracting Assurance Officer will execute and report on assurance activities across Defence Procurement and contract management processes. Utilising a range of techniques and data sources, you will assist with assurance activities, including compliance and performance reviews and proposing insights to assist with identification of issues. Further, this role will be involved with the engagement of stakeholders across groups and services to undertake assurance activities and support reporting outcomes.
About our Team
The Procurement and Contracting Assurance (PCA) Team is an exciting new function being established within the Commercial Division of Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group. PCA is responsible for liaison and coordination across all Defence Groups and Services, to action the assurance activities within the Defence Procurement and Contracting Assurance Framework and endorsed program of work.
This function aims to improve Procurement and Contracting compliance and performance while also reducing the risk to Defence. Through the provision of insights, the team engages with subject matter experts to inform continuous improvement of Procurement and Contracting policies, procedures, guidance, tools, training and templates and skilling of Defence officials.
This is a high profile function with responsibility to produce regular reporting to executive committees on data driven compliance monitoring and outcomes of activities. In this team, you will have oversight of the multi-billion dollar portfolio of complex, high-profile procurement activities to support the ADF.
