Randstad Canberra is currently seeking highly motivated APS 5 and APS 6 Procurement Officers to join our team within the Federal Government on a 3-month contract, with the possibility of a 3-month extension for the right candidate. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of government procurement projects.
Your new role
Understand and act in accordance with probity rules in government procurement projects.
Independently seek additional tasks and keep supervisors informed of workload status without needing external prompting.
Bring a proactive attitude and a sense of ownership, accountability, and pride to tasks individually responsible for.
Work to both short and long-term deadlines and readily rearrange priorities at short notice.
Adopt an open and collaborative approach to shared tasks with the confidence to provide frank feedback to supervisors.
Strictly adhere to file management protocols to ensure consistency and maintain searchable records, even when tasks are repetitive.
Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrate strong time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Suite.
Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking a dynamic individual with a strong background in procurement and contract management. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
Proven experience in a similar procurement role within the government.
Strong understanding of government procurement policies and probity rules.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you must be an Australian Citizen and have relevant experience in Government Department and / or in a similar position. You must have a minimum of an active Baseline clearance.
Successful candidates will be offered a 3 month contract with possibility of 3 month extension
