About QIMR Berghofer:
QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of Cancer, Infection and Inflammation, Mental Health and Neuroscience, and Population Health. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 1,000 scientists, students and support staff.
About the Procurement Team:
As part of the Finance & Administration department, the Procurement team works with researchers to ensure procurement activities are in-line with required procedures and that QIMR Berghofer is buying at market or below market rates.
Role Purpose / Key Responsibilities:
This position will manage the day to day purchasing operations of the Institute in an effective and efficient manner, through:
- Creating and managing purchase orders from requisition demand through to delivery of goods,
- Ensuring all purchasing activity is done in accordance with the Institute’s policies and procedures,
- Providing advice and assistance where appropriate to Institute staff on procurement policy, processes and services,
- Maintaining the required audit trails and key documentation,
- Ensuring compliance with Delegated Authorities,
- Where required maintaining master data,
- The generation of information and reports,
- Supporting the management of Tender documentation and processes.
About you:
You will need a PCP Level 1 Procurement Certification (or recognised equivalent) or will have demonstrated experience in a wide range of procurement activities within a customer focused organisation, or will have worked within a role requiring understanding and adherence to administrative procedure, while having some understanding of the fundamentals of purchasing and logistics. You will have sound communication, interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills, as well as excellent organisational and time management skills. You will be confident in working with people and have the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Remuneration: Salary range is $69,340 to $77,487 per annum. This is a full-time, permanent position.
