Seeking an experienced Procurement /Purchasing Officer

to be the Procurement Manager's right hand!

The position is Permanent full time

Monday to Friday

38 hours per week

$74,000 p/annum + 11% Super + Not for profit packaging

About the role ... 

The Procurement Officer position supports the Procurement Manager across a wide range of procurement and general administrative responsibilities.  The role requires a high level of flexibility and willingness to assist in whatever tasks are necessary, but with an emphasis on contract management.  Your experience in a similar position is essential!

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Ensure MiCare's compliance obligations are met in relation to contract management
  • Maintain current agreements, contracts, records and legislative requirements for goods and services delivery, including the Contracts database platform.
  • Assist MiCare stakeholders with their procurement requirements
  • Support the procurement engagement activities including, but not limited to, expression of interest, request for information, request for quotation, request for proposal, request for tender, supplier negotiation and contract development and execution
  • Create purchase orders, which accurately reflect the structure of the SLAs with Suppliers, in line with MiCare Governance and Delegation of Authority policies
  • Raise Purchase orders,  monitor and manage the receipt of deliverables
  • Administrative tasks, data entry and order and supplier management
  • Troubleshooting vendor, supplier and customer queries
  • Willingness to learn and be part of a dynamic team.

About you ... 

You will possess high level communication and relationship building skills, with an ability to liaise with all manner of stakeholders.  You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  You will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and will demonstrate initiative.

Qualifications:

  • Current Victorian Driver's licence
  • Relevant tertiary qualification for this role

Skills

  • Extensive experience working in a similar role as procurement Officer or Purchasing Officer /Specialist for complex organisations
  • Good working knowledge of procurement practices
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other areas of the organisation to achieve agreed outcomes - team work
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation, both written and verbal 
  • Stock management and administration
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft word, excel, outlook and powerpoint
  • Experience within the aged care sector and/or a grant funded not-for-profit sector

A police check with no disclosable outcome, current flu vaccination and a COVID-19 vaccination is required by MiCare for this position.

A commitment to work exclusively with MiCare Residential Aged Care facility as your only employer during COVID-19 will be highly regarded.
