AddressWe are currently seeking a Procurement Officer to join one of Australia's long standing companies that supply essential business consumables to customers nationally. The main categories being Safety PPE, Cleaning & Hygiene Supplies & Industrial Packaging, Restock supplies top-quality products to a number of industries nationwide.
The ideal person for this role must have product knowledge on our consumables and experience in sourcing such products with international manufacturers accordingly.
Qualifications & experience
• Proven experience in sourcing consumable products internationally.
• Proven purchasing experience within a high-volume supply chain.
• Experience in sourcing and purchasing consumables in one of the three categories mentioned above.
• Strong communication skills and customer service focus.
• Ability to effectively deal with high-pressure environments and tight deadlines.
• Experience with Netstock purchasing system is beneficial.
• Intermediate MS Excel Skills.
• Team orientated.
Tasks & responsibilities
• Sourcing consumable products, reviewing and processing purchase requisitions.
• Work with sales & marketing teams to develop new products
• Work with the sales team to conduct product trials.
• Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers and sourcing pricing for new products.
• You will develop demand forecasts and review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
• Vendor negotiations - source and negotiate quality products at the best market price.
• Manage International shipments from price negotiation, order placement and freight forwarders in the most efficient way
• Reporting non-conforming products/services.
• Assisting with the daily activities of the procurement department.
• Reviewing, comparing, evaluating and approving products and services.
• Managing inventories and maintaining accurate records.
• Maintaining and updating supplier information.
• Explore alternate sources for materials and services, considering customer sourcing direction.
• Negotiating contracts.
• Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers and sourcing pricing for new products.
• Preparing budgets, cost analyses and reports
