About the role  

We are looking for a motivated Procurement Planner to join our team here at MCC Melbourne. As a Procurement Planner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting end-to end varied procurement processes and contracting activities for our Melbourne plant.  

In this exciting and varied role, you will:  

  • Manage Supplier Relationships
  • Manage material supply programs.
  • Procure products required for the business.
  • Ensure all raw material levels are to an acceptable level to ensure no production downtime.
  • Negotiate local supplier contracts to achieve the best service and price outcome.
  • Authorise invoices for correct pricing against agreed price lists.
  • Maintain data of raw material costs and exchange rates for supplier negotiations.
  • Maintain ongoing contracts (Cleaning, Pest, Freight etc.)
  • Procurement savings target of 4% per annual.
  • Provide information to R&D on potential new product opportunities.
  • Reviews with key suppliers as required.
  • Maintain and report cost reduction Project Activities to Regional Procurement Manager
  • Support Regional Procurement Strategies
  • Kaizen: Develop an understanding of Kaizen principles and encourage, promote and support continual improvement and 5S projects.

About you  

  • Prior experience in Procurement, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • High level of planning, sourcing, negotiation, tendering and contract management skills.
  • Charted Institute of Procurement and Supply accreditation or relevant tertiary qualifications desired.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in undertaking multiple procurement activities from start to finish.
  • High level of maturity and credibility to influence others and build/maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Culturally adept and adaptable.
