The role
As our Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for medium to high-value, high-complexity category management and complex sourcing activities, ensuring the delivery of optimal value for money through implementation of best practice procurement and contracting processes. This includes:
- Facilities Management Expertise: Lead and implement facilities management and associated category strategies, contributing to best practice outcomes.
- Project Management: Drive the implementation of planned procurement initiatives using innovative value creation levers such as strategic sourcing, standardisation, and aggregation of demand.
- Benefits Realization Reporting: Establish transparent reporting mechanisms for benefits realisation, showcasing the impact of strategic procurement initiatives.
- Contractual Expertise: Develop and execute robust contractual arrangements that lock in procured value, ensuring long-term operational and tactical relationships with suppliers.
- Performance Management: Oversee contractual performance, addressing supply and distribution challenges promptly and fostering strategic relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong Stakeholder Management skills: Develop and maintain an outstanding relationship with key stakeholders and foster a collaborative approach to strategic procurement practice.
- Market Insight and Negotiation: Stay abreast of relevant supplier markets, capabilities, and technology, negotiating and implementing long-term agreements and partnerships.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure category strategies and procurement activities align with agreed processes and adhere to broader Queensland Health governance requirements.
The successful person
You will have demonstrated:
- Leadership in managing spend categories, applying category management processes, and crafting sourcing strategies, business cases, and category plans.
- Expertise in implementing contract and supplier management strategies, showcasing strong negotiation skills, and successfully managing complex tender evaluation processes.
- Solving complex problems using logic, data, and governance frameworks, considering broader stakeholder interests to deliver creative solutions.
- Strong communications skills - confidently, listens actively, and participates in constructive negotiations to achieve optimal outcomes.
