With an ever-increasing order book for new equipment, GEARS Mining is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join their growing team for an immediate start. The position will work closely with other professionals such as engineers, fitters, machinists, boilermakers, and electricians.
In this role, you will plan, develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives. This includes managing assigned projects from start-to-finish. You will be expected to participate in a team to ensure that projects are completed on-time and within the allocated budget.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Interpret and monitor project scope requirements in order to assist in establishing procured deliverables that align with specifications and standards.
- Conduct accurate purchasing of products and services in accordance with policies and procedures to meet business needs
- Identify, mitigate and escalate procurement risks to enable the organisation to meet its obligations and maximise business opportunities
- Enter and maintain BOMs and stock
- Problem solving all procurement related issues
- Monitor supplier DIFOT
- Manage internal and external stock transfers for processed parts
- Maintain and update accurate records
- Generate reports on procurement activity to meet organisational requirements and maintain DIFOT
- Establish and review supply arrangements that will deliver value for money procurement outcomes
- Continuously improve procurement processes and systems.
- Maintain all required project documentation and implement document control procedures
- Assist estimating team in the development of tenders
- Be able to work without continuous supervision.
- Complete work in a safe manner following procedures and policies in place in all areas
- Ensure all customer requirements and requests are met in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Provide support and guidance to subcontractors during manufacturing periods.
- Represent the company and conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times
- Provide continuous feedback to GEARS Mining in relation to manufacturing and procurement of our products and projects.
- Build positive work relationships whilst contributing to the team and show dedication to assisting other team members in work and professional development.
- Understand the company’s goal and purpose in order to continue to enhance the company’s performance
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- 3-5 years’ related work experience
- Advanced skills in critical software applications, such as Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
- Expertise in data, problem analysis, creative problem solving, and design thinking
- Knowledge of procurement processes, including creating Bill of Materials and routing of products through various work stations.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes is highly desired, specifically around fabrication, machining and coating processes.
- Leadership experience will be highly valued
- Ability to perform under pressure
- Willingness to work as directed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Permission to work in Australia
