Elecnor has been contracted to build EnergyConnect, a new 700km transmission line extending from Wagga Wagga NSW to the South Australian border.
This backbone infrastructure will connect customers with more renewable energy enabling a further 4950MW of generation capacity, save NSW customers $180 million a year and create 1,500 new construction jobs in regional NSW.
Construction of EnergyConnect is underway in various locations across the project area.
The Role:
This key role supports tenders for new work and awarded projects by managing procurement activities for packaged equipment under planned timelines. We will also consider candidates who prefer a 5:2 roster and are based locally within the Wagga Wagga or Mildura region:
- Sourcing, RFQ, bid clarification and conforming commercial agreements in tendering and project execution phase.
- Issue of conformed Purchase Order agreements, post-award commercial management, and expediting of packaged equipment through to final delivery and commercial closeout
- Supports the SCM team in achieving project cost and schedule targets
Main Duties / Responsibilities
- Manages the procurement & delivery process for assigned major and intermediate-level equipment packages
- Field buying of all Project tools and equipment
- Interfaces with Engineering Leads for the timely issue of Scopes of work and associated documents for assigned RFQ packages
- Pre-qualifying Suppliers where required
- Preparation and approval of Single Source Justifications where required
- Preparation and approval of bid lists
- Compiles and issues RFQs to bidders via approved project systems
Experience & Skills required
- A qualification in Supply Chain or Commercial Management is preferred, but significant project experience and some form of professional qualifications, e.g. Degree, Diploma or Certificate etc., in a related subject or more years in a Buyer type role
- Documented experience in managing the procurement of significant equipment packages for electrical and civil infrastructure projects
- Skilled at negotiating
- Experience in expediting delivery of purchased equipment and associated Supplier documentation
- Basic knowledge and understanding of Terms and Conditions of Purchase and ability to negotiate
- Demonstrated understanding of materials management systems and processes and practical experience in maintaining purchasing/expediting data in materials management systems.
- Previous experience with input to tenders for new business is acceptable
- Locally based in Wagga Wagga or Mildura is highly preferred
