The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Purchasing Officer. This is a critical role where the individual can bring forth knowledge and experience of inventory policies and importing best practices to ensure efficiency and cost-effective solutions across the entire supply chain.
At CPH Group we source inventory from Leading Global manufacturers around the world. You will be responsible for purchasing, liaising and negotiating with suppliers, quality control practices, reporting and analysis to meet sales demand and forecasts.
Reporting to the Finance Team Leader, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist with overall business strategy and execution for all inventory control related activities
- Maintain and optimise inventory levels by forecasting supply and demand requirements
- Creation and maintenance of purchase orders, pricing, inventory and supplier records
- Monitor production schedules, ensure customs clearance and coordinate arrival times
- Contribute to the development and improvement of existing systems and procedures
- Communicate and negotiate with suppliers to improve pricing, lead times, payment terms and quality control
- Monitor stock issues, returns and wastage and ensure timely claims are processed and root causes are identified
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and implement strategies to minimise obsolete and excess stock
The ideal candidate would have:
- Minimum 2 years proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, primarily dealing with overseas suppliers
- NetStock Inventory Software Experience or similar
- ERP System Experience with Netsuite or similar
- Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel Knowledge
- Excellent written, verbal and negotiation skills
- Solution-oriented with proactive problem-solving capabilities
- Strong commitment to accuracy
- Ability to self-manage time effectively to prioritise and meet deadlines
