Position Overview

This role reports to and is responsible for the overall procurement, warehousing, and Logistics activities from a senior management perspective. The position will ensure required supplies of commodities, facilities, equipment, medical consumables and pharmaceuticals are procured, and mobilised in a cost effective and timely manner. In addition, the position will oversee effective warehouse management for all inventory that is shipped in and out.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • manage the entire process from planning of commodities procurement and supply chain activities, inventory control, logistics and distribution, customs clearance, ensuring effective- functioning processes to avoid costly delays and lost opportunities.
  • undertake robust and appropriate tenders for provision and supply of all pharmaceuticals and clinical consumables on as needs basis.
  • develop and prepare HCF tender process strategy and general business planning including experience in the financial aspect of tenders.
  • develop and implement systems for stock control including receiving, warehousing, distribution of inventory throughout the hospital by utilizing the mSupply Inventory Management System.
  • ensure proper use/function of mSupply to retrievable records and files for all forms and process of procurement, storage and distribution transactions.
  • build, manage and implement the full suits of mSupply functionality of inventory management, requisitions, invoice generation, cold chain management, etc across the HCF business.
  • establish and implement a monitoring system that ensures that the prices paid for supplies are in line with local market prices.
  • provide reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock, leakage reports etc.)
  • prepare annual budget & department plans as required.

Qualifications

  • relevant tertiary qualification and relevant work experience.
  • professional certification and membership to a reputable procurement, logistics and/or warehouse management is highly desirable.
  • minimum 10 years project procurement management experience, preferably in a health- related project, and including service procurements.
  • strong leadership, analytical and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team, assess priorities, and manage multiple activities with attention to detail, meeting tight deadlines under pressure.
  • excellent problem-solving capacity, with demonstrated ability for considerable analysis and sound judgment to find solutions in a complex environment with shifting and competing priorities.
  • excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills demonstrated by ability to interact professionally with team members stakeholders, clients and consultants
  • must be willing to relocate to Fiji.
