Our client is a dynamic, Australian-owned mining company in the Hunter Valley. As a pioneer in responsible resource development, our client owns and operates a range of projects, including an underground coal operation based in Muswellbrook.
The underground coal site commenced operations last year and has planned targets of up to 8 million tonnes per annum of high-quality coal, and current approvals through to 2046.
The Role:
As part of the continual development and growth of the operation, the need to add a Production Manager into the team has arrised. This position will report into the Mine Manager and utilize their existing skills to implement and improve systems and resources to meet production milestones whilst ensuring, efficient operation.
Responsibilities on a day-to-day basis could include developing existing and new team members, oversee longwall, development and out bye areas, review and implement systems, management performance targets and prepare budgets. Stakeholder relations will be crucial across the underground operation.
What you will bring:
- 10 years experience in a leadership role at an underground coal mine
- Second class certificate to perform function of undermanager at a minimum is essential
- Sound knowledge of underground mining process, particularly knowledge of longwall operations
- Through understand of work health and safety legislation in the coal industry
- Ability to lead and motivate shift teams to achieve production targets
