We seek an enthusiastic, energetic, and customer focused individual to join our Design Team who are based at the company's Head Office in Knoxfield, Victoria.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced [Fulltime] Product Developer / Designer to work with our Internal Project Team, to design innovative seating, tables, library display items and more. You will be in control of the entire product design process, from concept to launch. This role also requires creation of detailed technical drawings for furniture/shelving manufacture, as well as the creation of layout visualisations for customer review. You will also be involved in creating floorplans for libraries, including shelving and furniture placement.
This is an exciting opportunity to expand established skills and display creativity in generation of solutions to achieve Customer requirements. Taking ownership of the process, you will provide information and communication to all stakeholders to achieve desired project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, source & prepare data for all customised furniture products and associated project requirements.
- Design a range of innovative furniture lines
- Develop ideas from the Sales team into practical designs.
- Produce accurate drawings using Solidworks software for production.
- Create product visualisations
- Assist project teams on large projects and tenders.
- Maintain product drawing database and issue regime.
- Research & Ideation to develop the existing product range of furniture and shelving.
- Create floorplans on Floorplanner software from mud maps provided.
Must have requirements
- High proficiency (min 3 years’ experience) with Solidworks. Experience with Weldment profiles and Sheetmetal forming is highly desirable.
- Experience designing with materials such as Timber laminate, Acrylics, Sheetmetal and Upholstery.
- Well-developed computer skills, (MS Office, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Experience using Luxion Keyshot to create product renders.
- Ability to read & interpret technical drawings and floor plans.
- Highly effective communication, organisational and priority skills.
- Capable of self-managing workload and prioritising tasks.
- Proven ability to deal with customers, architects and manufactures.
- Flexible and adaptive to support team customer needs.
- Good communication skills
