Our Imports team is currently looking to hire a Product Development Manager to assist with our new product projects throughout Chemist Warehouse.
About the Role
The Product Development Manager is required to plan, develop and coordinate new product projects for private label brands managed by the Imports department. This includes researching, sourcing and reviewing existing products/brands to identify potential new opportunities.
Role Responsibilities
- Perform product and market research to evaluate options and feasibility of projects.
- Present alternate ideas to key stakeholders if better opportunities are identified.
- Prepare and adjust development plans as required by Imports Manager and key stakeholders.
- Gathering and communicating to suppliers all project requirements including product specifications, timeline and budget.
- Prepare a cost analysis on quotations obtained and negotiate with suppliers to meet company’s best interest.
- Conduct risk assessment to identify product testing and labelling requirements.
- Ensure such activities are documented (recorded) and reported in compliance with the company protocols
About you
- Experience with research and development projects.
- Understanding of standards and laws that apply. Experience would be desirable.
- Have strong understanding of the international market for sourcing requirements.
- Knowledge of importing procedures
- Experience in dealing with international suppliers
- Basic skills with Microsoft Office.
- Basic analytical skills required.
- Close attention to detail in written communication, project and report documentation.
