Product Development Manager - (Footwear and Leather accessories)
The role
We are seeking a creative, innovative and meticulous Product Development Manager to join Jo Mercer on a full-time basis, working from our South Yarra Support Office. Reporting to the CEO and managing 2 Product Developer's, you will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating the development of our product range in line with Jo Mercer's brand strategy to ensure optimal profitability and relevant range.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for the build of seasonal range plans that align with the brand strategy
• Working closely with the Product Developers, Merchandise (Supply Chain) and other Senior Leaders
• Collaborate with the Senior Merchandise Planner to continually review product performance and develop strategies to maximise profitability and stockturn
• Present seasonal range to key stakeholders for sign-off
• Sourcing, buying and developing new product that reflects market trends
• Overseas travel to meet with stakeholders to build and maintain supplier relationships
• Collaborate with Marketing and Customer Service to ensure optimised product launches
• Meet with internal stakeholders and conduct post-season analysis
• Ongoing assessment of local pricing strategy, ensuring product range is profitable and positioned well in the market
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and awareness of competitors and external trends, identifying missed opportunities and trends to maximise revenue
• Coach, develop and inspire your team to help them with continuous development
• Undertake competitor analysis regularly
About you
• Strong demonstrated experience in Product Development
• Tertiary qualification or similar
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role; experience in footwear is essential
• Strong/Proven project management and organisational skills
• Experience managing, leading and developing a team
• Design experience or creative background will be highly regarded
• A detail orientation with strong planning and analytical skills
• Practical, positive attitude and adept at problem solving
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to build effective and influential relationships
• A sharp eye for detail and the ability to deliver against deadlines in a fast-paced environment
