Industrial Product Development Manager

About the role Working for a business focused on being the no.1 furniture business in Australia, whilst being sustainable, they are extremely customer centric and design led. You'll be leading a team whilst working cross functionally with the Head of Design, Head of Product and senior leaders to create beautiful, functional and affordable furniture for Australia

Duties

• Be the link between the Design and Product Development teams understanding what is feasible from an engineering and manufacturing perspective. 
• Taking ownership of the Product Development pipeline.
• Managing the process from sample to finished good. 
• Sourcing components, materials, finishes and hardware. 
• Lead a team of 2 Product Developers 
• Monitoring costings and negotiations with suppliers
• International buying trips every 3-6 months 

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience of people management 
• Minimum 5 years experience in a Product Development Role 
• 3D modelling and rendering is a must 
• A degree in product or engineering would be beneficial 
• Having a passion for furniture and homewares 
• Previous experience working with overseas manufacturing
